About the Author
Robert J. DiLorenzo is a graduate of San Francisco State University and California Western School of Law in San Diego. Rob began his legal career rather late in life, at age 32. His up-bringing in Brooklyn did not exactly prepare him as a traditional member of the Bar but was perfect preparation to be a Grunt Lawyer. During and after high school he was a musician, playing drums for years with and for various pop stars in the eventful sixties. To survive he was a cabinetmaker, carpenter, short-order cook, shoe salesman, traveled extensively, was homeless, and having far too many tough, yet unique life experiences to be a “garden variety, average lawyer.” After rough going, he managed to get himself educated, and practiced law in California for over 25 years in criminal defense, family law, personal injury in a diverse state with a cosmopolitan outlook.
Loving the western lifestyle since childhood, he eventually gravitated to Wyoming to fulfill a life-long dream of raising and breeding horses, working on ranches, bucking hay. And yet, Rob continued to practice law for an additional 15 years in a state and culture he found fascinating, teaching him that faith in God, family and country was not a mere punchline but ingrained with the people of this state with a sparse population, and traditional outlook.
Rob and his wife Diane, a champion barrel racer, live, raise and breed horses in Appomattox, Virginia. He continues to practice law in his beloved state of Wyoming.
